The Library & Information Division of the Centre has large collection of books and scientific journals on different aspects of tuberculosis and other related subjects. Books are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC). The library services are laid down with the objectives of gathering, maintaining and making accessible relevant health information. This Library has tremendous campus wide electronic access facility for information services. Remarkable progress has been established with the wealth of electronic resources. It caters to the felt need of scientists' demand on time. The refurbished modular library provides beautiful learning ambience.

Internet Browsing Laboratory

The high bandwidth leased line Internet connectivity at the browsing laboratory is being effectively utilized by staff of this centre, project staff and students from outside.

Digital Library

The TRC Digital Library is being served as a web-based interface to the in-house resources and hyperlink to all the full-text e-journals; e-databases; e-subject collection and publisher's cumulative collection being subscribed. Further to ICMR's resource sharing electronic databases viz., ProQuest; OVID; J-gate and J-Content Consortia. Web OPAC has been further strengthening the digital library platform. Library services' forms are made available to the user community through digital library. Bibliographical details of TRC Publications; Periodicals Holding list of library and Instructions to authors are also been made available electronically. The library has CD-ROM collections on books; MEDLINE (1966-2001) and NUCSSI (National Union Catalogue of Scientific Serials in India)


 

 

Automation & OPAC

Library automation process is being progressively functioned through the software GLAS (Graphical Library Automation System, USA) to integrate circulation and collection control. Further it is planning to introduce e-mail interaction system. The Online Public Access Catalog of TRC library is being made available through GLAS Software. The interface to access the current status of the materials through digital library.

Multimedia Unit

Multimedia Unit is being done wonderful services like conversion of print document in to an electronic format with scanning and editing business; Annual Report co-ordination for designing and compilation; Organizing and managing distinguished visitors / conferences / workshops' photographs; Co-ordination for scientific publications and thesis work relating to scanning and editing; Portable Document Format (pdf) conversion for print article; Geographical Information System analysis; Co-ordination for designing and data management for TRC Web site; poster designing for scientists.
